Superb Canning Jars and Lids. My Review. Today I’ve got something a little different—a box opening video featuring products from Superb Canning.
Now, I’ll be honest: I don’t usually do unboxing videos. If someone hasn’t used the product yet, how helpful is that, right? But here’s the thing—I have used Superb products. I have used their lids and I do like them.
This will be my first exposure to Superb canning jars. So I figured I’d show you what came in the box, share my first impressions, and explain what makes these stand out from other brands.

Here’s what I got in my packages today:
- Regular Mouth Lids – 12 Pack box
- Regular Mouth Lids – 60 pack box
- Regular Mouth and Wide Mouth Lids in a sleeve of 156.

First Look: Superb Canning Jars
The first thing I opened was a 12-pack of regular mouth pint jars.
Right away, the packaging caught my attention.
Superb includes a protective insert in the box to keep the lids from sticking or sealing during shipping. It surprised me and I love it. If you’ve ever opened a case where the lids were already sealed down due to heat or pressure, you’ll understand why this matters. These lids arrived pristine and ready to use.
You get jars, lids and rings in the box so you are all set for your first canning project.
The jars feel solid!
The jars themselves feel solid and well-made—more like the older, heavier jars we all know and trust. I noticed the words “Superb R Glass” on the bottom. I’m not sure yet what the “R Glass” means, but it’s something I’ll be looking into.
There’s no branding on the sides of the jars, which I like. That way, your food stays the focus—especially nice for gifting or pretty pantry displays.
Bonus for storage: Unlike those thin plastic trays some brands use, this box can actually be reused to store your filled jars. For someone like me without a big storage walk-in pantry, that’s a big win.

A Look at the Lids: Regular, Wide Mouth, and Bulk Options
Next up was a box full of canning lids—and Superb offers several ways to buy them. (I got ridiculously excited about the sleeves of lids!)
If you do a lot of canning, that bulk sleeve is the best value. No extra packaging, just one long sleeve of lids and a better price per lid. Of course, if you’re just doing a few batches of jam, the smaller packs are still a great option.
Superb makes both regular mouth and wide mouth lids, so you can stock up on whatever suits your canning style.
Why These Lids Stand Out
The most important part of any lid is the gasket—that thin sealing ring on the underside. And this is where Superb really shines.
Their lids have a thicker gasket, more like the old-style lids we used to get. Some of the newer lids on the market today are thinner and less reliable. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about seal failures. But with Superb, I haven’t had those issues. The lids worked well for me, and have a great reputation.
They’re made to standard sizing, so they work with your typical Ball, Kerr, or Mason jars as well. Both regular mouth and wide mouth are available.
