Comparing Mason Tops and Glyntrof Pouring Lids

Mason jars are versatile for making and serving drinks, but a great mason jar pour lid can make all the difference.

I’ve tested two popular options: Mason Tops and Glyntrof mason jar pouring lids. Here’s my honest comparison to help you find the perfect fit for your needs.

A sturdy, leak-proof lid with a convenient spout and handle is a game-changer—but not all lids are created equal.

btw- Masontops is the same company that creates the pickle pipes that I love so much. This company has a lot of neat things.

Why Use Pour Lids for Mason Jars?

I like to make iced tea in half-gallon mason jars. It’s a simple setup, but pouring from a jar can be a little awkward, especially when it’s full.

That’s where these lids come in. Both brands I tested offer lids with handles, making pouring much easier and less messy. They both felt sturdy.

Mason Tops

Here’s what I liked about the Mason Tops lids:

  • Design and Build: The design is sleek and feels sturdy. Even when the jar is full and heavy, the lid and handle hold up well.
  • Leak-Proof Performance: The lid snaps shut securely, and the silicone gasket inside ensures no leaking from the spout or around the edges.
  • Versatility: These are available in both regular and wide-mouth sizes. I use them with half-gallon jars, but they’d work with smaller jars too.
  • Durability: The lid feels well-made and long-lasting.

If I had to describe these in one word, it would be reliable.

Glyntrof Pour Spout Lid

The Glyntrof Pour Spout Lids offer similar features with a slightly different design:

  • Affordability: These are a bit more budget-friendly than the Mason Tops lids.
  • Leak-Proof Performance: Like the Mason Tops, the Glen Trough lids snap shut and include a silicone gasket to prevent leaks.
  • Unique Feature: There’s a small handle or loop on the lid. Honestly, I couldn’t figure out a practical use for it—maybe someone out there finds it handy?

While the Glyntrof Pour Spout Lids work just as well, they don’t feel quite as polished in their design.

My Preference

If I had to choose, I’d go with the Mason Tops lids. They’re just a little nicer in terms of design and feel.

That said, the Glyntrof lids are perfectly functional and a good option if you’re looking to save a bit of money.

Final Thoughts

Both Mason Tops and Glyntrof Pour Spout Lids do their job well—no leaks, easy to pour, and sturdy enough for heavy jars.

If you’re looking for a more polished design, go with Mason Tops. If you’re focused on budget, Glyntrof Pour Spout Lids gets the job done just fine.

Have you tried another mason jar pour lid? I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve found a good use for that little loop on the Glyntrof Pour Spout Lid lids!

Happy pouring!
