Instructions
Freezing Meat
Chill meat in the refrigerator at 32 to 36 degrees F before packaging for the freezer.
Cut meat into smaller pieces or grind as desired.
Wrap prepared meat tightly in plastic wrap.
Next, package plastic wrapped meat in freezer paper (slick side facing inward) or in freezer bags. Use masking tape to tightly close the paper.
Label contents and date of each package with a marker.
Freeze packaged meat immediately.
Notes
If meat is fresh, you’ll need to chill below 40 degrees F within the first 24 hours!
If packaging large game, you may need to trim up the meat a bit before packaging for the freezer.
Container Options Include:
Freezer Bags – my preference!
Rigid freezer containers – plastic with secure fitting lids.
