Happening
Life is happening! Time keeps ticking away. Children are
growing
up. Life moves on. And you know what? It has been almost a
year
since Simply Canning went live on line.
It
has been a lot of work... and a lot of fun. I've 'met' some of
the nicest people. Canners are a great bunch.
I plan to
celebrate..... Lets have a birthday contest.
And I want THIS CAKE!! Doesn't it look yummy! (no I did not make it... I only wish.

Simple
Recipe
of the Month
Easy Fruit Cobbler - I got this recipe from my friend Shauna.
3.5 cups Fruit. (or 1 quart jar, drained)
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 beaten egg
6T butter, melted
1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1T sugar combined
Place
drained fruit in 9X9 pan. Mix flour, sugar
and baking
powder. Add in beaten egg and mix until crumbly. Spread over
fruit. Drizzle melted butter on top and sprinkle with
cinnamon/sugar combo.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40
minutes. Super easy and super good. I've made this
with fresh ground whole wheat flour and it works great. My favorite is cherry.

I checked out the greatest cookbook from our library last week.
Colorado
Farmers' Market Cookbook: Delicious Recipes & Tips Fresh from
Colorado Farmers' Markets & Chefs
The recipes in this cookbook came from
various ranches, farms and organic markets in Colorado.
They looked so good. I tried a few and they all turned
out yummy. Even when I adapted them for my wild game and home
canned products.
If you are in Colorado you might be interested in the Colorado
Farmers Market Guide in the back of the book. This lists
many Colorado Farmers
Markets with phone numbers, websites, months that the Markets are open
and where they are located.
Fantastic color photos of Colorado farms, farmers markets
and produce set it all off.
