Moist Banana Bread Recipe
Whole wheat moist banana bread recipe. Add nuts of your choice, or raisins if you like.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 T vegetable oil
- 1/3 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 1/4 cup mashed banana (2 - 3 medium)
- 1 cup raisins (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. This recipe works best if your oven is at temperature when you place your pans in the oven.
Mix all ingredients and beat 30 seconds.... that's it! It's as simple as that.
Pour batter into one greased 9x5x3 loaf pan or 2 smaller loaf pans.
Bake until wooden toothpick comes out clean.
- a 9 inch loaf will be about 65 minutes
- 2 smaller loaf pans will be 55-60 minutes.
Cool slightly and remove from pan. Allow to cool completely before covering for storage. Store in the refrigerator.
Double the recipe and freeze some for later. Simply allow loaf to cool completely. Wrap well in plastic wrap and then a freezer bag. Label and freeze.
Notes: I usually double this recipe and use three 8 inch loaf pans. If you just want one loaf use the recipe as written and bake in a larger 9 inch loaf pan.
