Focaccia Bread Recipe
Homemade Whole Wheat Italian Flat Bread Recipe
This Focaccia bread recipe is adapted to whole wheat.
An Italian Flat bread recipe flavored with Parmesan cheese, garlic salt and rosemary. Great with homemade soup.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup +3 T water
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 T dry milk
- 3 1/2 T sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 T butter
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 T olive oil
- 2 T grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp rosemary
- 1 tsp garlic salt (or to taste)
Directions
Add water, flour, dry milk, sugar and salt to bread machine. Cut butter into 4 pieces and add to corners of bread machine. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and add yeast.
Run machine on dough cycle. When done remove dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 minute.
| Roll dough out to fit a cookie sheet. About 15x10 inches. I use my stoneware bar pan. |

| Cover and let rise for 20 minutes or until risen slightly.
Make an indentation every few inches with the handle of a wooden spoon. |

| Brush dough with olive oil.
Sprinkle on Parmesan cheese, rosemary leaves and garlic salt. |

| Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into squares to serve. |
