Canning Nacho cheese

Once I have opened a #10 can of nacho cheese can I pour the leftovers into pint size canning jars and then home can it?

If so what would be the canning process, water bath or pressure can?

I don't think this would be a good idea. It is not safe to can any dairy foods. Of course I don't know just how much 'dairy' is in that type of cheese product. But it is still not something I'd recommend.

You might try to freeze it. I have not done this myself so I don't know how it would affect the cheese but it might be worth a try.

Yes You Can
by: Dustie

If you can buy it in the store you can can it. You can buy nacho cheese in jars in the store and it is canned, Therefore, you can can it at home.

_____________
Dustie, This is a case where commercial productions have very different processes and equipment than what is available for the home canner.

I must stand by my advice that it would not be a good idea. If you have done this with success I'd like to hear how you've accomplished it.
