A good preserving book is the most important tool you may need when learning to home preserve food for your family. If you are canning, dehydrating, or freezing your foods, correct procedures and recipes will make your efforts efficient and worth while.
If you are looking for information on preserving food remember, a good book will have up to date methods and processing information. It is recommended that you not use a book that is more than 10 yrs old. There are lots of vintage canning books that are fun to look at and may have some good information but if it is older than 10 yrs it may have outdated safety information. Always check the date of your books. I always promote following USDA safety recommendations.
