Simply Canning and More, Reusable Canning Lids
November 10, 2010
Hi there,

What's New?

Busy canning season is just about over for me. I can't ever say I am done canning because it seems to be a year round activity for us. But... my garden is officially over.

I've pulled all the tomatoes and harvested veggie seeds for our garden next year. I even made fried green tomatoes this year. I've been wanting to try it and we found it pretty good.

I am almost done canning our applesauce and made apple jelly too this year. Each year we get our apples from Red Mountain Ranches.. Very nice people and they always get seconds in just for me.

I highly recommend establishing a friendly relationship with the orchards and pick your own farms in your area. They are usually very nice folks!

I tried a new product this month and posted a review for you. It actually has been around for years and years. I just had not heard of it. Reuseable canning lids.

What a great idea! Check out my review..... Reuseable Canning Lids

It has arrived!

Last week I sent out an e-mail regarding my new e-book.

In case you missed it.... Elk and Venison Recipes - From the Field to the Table.

Includes 21 of our recipes using home canned wild meat.

Canning Tip

If you are like me you have to get pretty creative to find places to store your harvest.

I have what most would consider to be a good sized pantry.... but it's still not big enough.

We stash our jars all over the place.

Here is my youngest man sorting jars and storing them in a kitchen cupboard.
