A Simple Life is the Life for Me.... How about You?

September 2011

Hi there, Welcome to Simply Canning and More.

Icy Peach Slushies

peach slushyMy boys were helping their dad this morning. We are building a deck on our house. It was hot and they were ready for a break. My husband declared peach slushies for all.

I obliged with the last jar of home canned peaches.

Good thing peaches are just coming ripe this year!

Hunting season is almost here. If you are a bow hunter you're already out in the fields.

I've got complete directions on how to can meat and best of all

... I've put together a recipe book for using that meat throughout the year.

Check it out here Elk and Venison Recipes.

I've had lots of comments on pressure canners this month. My favorite is from Don in Canada.

He asks if I'd invent an even BIGGER canner than the All American 941. Keep in mind... the 941 canner processes up to 19 quarts!

You'd need a big burner for that baby!
