Note From Sharon

Hunting season is over for us and guess what??? We had no luck this year. Last year was a good year though and I still have some elk wrapped up and ready to go. Which brings me to.... Thanksgiving. Have you ever considered that at the original thanksgiving venison and wild game was most likely on the dinner plate!

Susan from The Hunting Widows Guide to venison cooking shares with us some of her authentic thanksgiving recipes. Mmmm I'm especially going to try the breakfast sausage.

Thanksgiving with venison

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, probably because the focus is bringing friends and family together to share a bountiful feast. How beautiful is that?

A few years ago I was researching authentic Thanksgiving recipes I learned that there was more than turkey and corn on that table- there was a bounty of venison. What a great reason to create a festive and delicious venison dish for your family and friends..... Susan writes more about cooking venison here.

And after thanksgiving don't forget about canning turkey soup and turkey broth use the same methods as chicken soup or broth.
